Web Hopper Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the back button?
Yes. You can use the back button to return to the previous page.
I have problems logging into Web Hopper. What should I do?
First, verify that the username your are trying to use is correct. It should be identical
to your Austin College email account. If you are not sure, on Web Hopper's welcome screen
there is a link called "What's My User ID?". Following that link will display your username on the screen.
If you've forgotten your password, next to the "What's My User ID?" link is a link called "Reset Password".
If you follow that link, an email with a temporary password will be sent to your Austin College
email account. Logging in with a temporary password will require you to set your own password,
replacing the temporary password.
What browser should I use with Web Hopper?
If you are using a Windows computer, Internet Explorer and the latest version of Mozilla
Firefox display Web Hopper correctly. If you are using Macintosh computer, only Safari is
known to work correctly. Other browsers may display Web Hopper correctly, but only those listed
will be supported. The most common problem in using unsupported browsers is a failure to
display graphics. In other words, Web Hopper displays in plain text with links.
Should I have a Web Hopper account?
Only current faculty and students are provided with Web Hopper accounts. As with email
accounts, Web Hopper accounts are only kept active for one year after graduation. After that
span of time, alumni will need to contact the Registrar's office to obtain academic records.
I forgot my password, tried to log in a lot, and it said my account was locked.
The account lock is only temporary. Your account will be unlocked within 5 minutes. The
lock is a security feature. Follow the "Reset Password" link on the welcome page to get a
temporary password to access your account. You can do this even while your account is locked.
I'm still having problems!
